The Confessional Boutique Wine Revelations is a place to immerse oneself into something unique, to pause, reflect and indulge your senses to food and wine.
Offering wine tastings in the quirky cellar door the winemakers talk you through three small boutique producers La Curio, Pieri Wines and Skin Deep.
Each producer uniquely different from the next offering some interesting traditional wine making techniques, Amarone and Appassimento. With the addition of some easy drinking Italian Varietals you will be hard pressed to find a wine that is not fresh and approachable, easy drinking.
Their tapas menu is crafted from local seasonal ingredients with an element of each dish smoked. Of course each dish is paired to go with a glass or two of vino!
The Confessional also offers out back barrel tasting with the winemaker where debauched conversation and drinking takes place. The opportunity to also taste other producers making their wine in the quaint winery outback.
At the end of your day there's the option to confess your brooding red sins in the confessional booth which records your confession so you are able to send to others or if brave enough upload to Facebook.
Lunch bookings and barrel tastings recommended....
The WayWood philosophy is simple, nurturing individual parcels of fruit to produce wines that truly express site, vintage and variety.
Our cellar door and kitchen is located at 67 Kays Road in the northern hills of McLaren Vale - a region of elevated vineyards and natural bushland overlooking the Vale and boasting views right out to the sea.
Since the conception of WayWood Wines, our dream has been to open a cellar door where we can share our unique wines and the stories behind them with friends and travelling guests. This goal became reality at Christmas in 2014 when we established our premises on the edge of a lavender farm with a stunning outlook across the rolling hills and valleys.
The experience we offer is as much about the food, which is carefully designed to match the various wine styles, as it is about the wine itself. To learn more about the food created by Andrew's wife Lisa, please see the Luscious Red Food tab on our website....
