Step back in time to the days of Cobb and Co Coaches with a visit to the Reynella Horse Changing Station. Built in the 1850?s, the carefully restored building has had many different uses, including time as a stable, a church, a black smith?s shop and, of course, as a station at which stage coaches on the Adelaide to Willunga route would stop and change horses.
An interesting collection of historical artefacts, heritage information and photographs describing and depicting this fascinating history are now on display in the restored building. Mementos of your visit can also be purchased.
Car parking and toilet facilities are available in the shopping centre located on the same site as the Reynella Horse Changing Station.

Horndale Distillery and Wine Cellars is one of the oldest vineyards/wineries in the Adelaide region.
Horndale has one and a half acres of Red Frontignac grapes. These grapes are used to make up Horndale's feature wine Old Horndale Brandy Wood Frontignac. Apart from this small crush, the other wine is made off the premises.
Horndale Cellar Door has a fine selection of Red, White, Sparkling and Fortified Wines. With many medal winners in our stable you are sure to find a wine for that special occasion, or even some to put away.
The cellar door is open for tastings and sales seven days a week. Adjoining the cellar is the old Number One Spirit Store, which has been converted to a function room and restaurant. The Function room is ideal for that special occasion and the bistro is popular with tourists and is open Friday nights. Bookings are essential....
The Horndale Cellars were established in the late 1890's. Built on the hillside, the stone used for the walls of the winery were quarried on the property. Of the 310 acres of vines that once made up Horndale there remains only one and a half acres which are planted to Red Frontignac grapes, from which is made the feature wine Old Horndale Brandy Wood Frontignac Tawny Port.
Apart from this small crush, the other wines are made off premises. The cellar door is open for tasting and sales seven days a week. Adjoining the cellar door is the old Number One Spirit Store, which has been converted to a function room and restaurant with the addition of a kitchen and toilet block.
In addition to the range of bottled wines they now have available in bulk, with a two litre minimum, a range of ports, Sherries and Muscat. Another popular item with both local and interstate visitors is the range of genuine oak barrels, fully seasoned in sizes from two litre to fifty litres, all filled with Tawny Port....
